Stoney LaRue, singer, songwriter, and part of the Red Dirt music movement. Red Dirt Music began as a term for the songwriting style centered around Stillwater, OK for the past 25 years.
Where it began is somewhat foggy, but what is clear is that it is sweeping the nation and those responsible call Oklahoma home. Today, several acts have established themselves and proudly wave the Red Dirt banner.
Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, and The Red Dirt Rangers have all become national touring acts.
In September of 2002, Stoney along with the Organic Boogie Band, released their debut CD, "Downtown". It was recorded during private sessions at the renowned Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK.
With so much accomplished in so little time, Stoney LaRue is bringing the best of Red Dirt songwriting and taking it to the people.
In August of 2002, Stoney made the move to Texas in hopes of enduring another chapter in his career. With a warm welcome Stoney begin touring full-time and increasing his fan base.
After his performance at Musicfest in 2005, people left knowing exactly who he was and what he was about. Stoney is a true believer in the music and it shows through every performance.
Every show is a new experience of music and musicianship. Stoney, known for his ability to entertain a crowd and a voice that will leave you speechless,
keeps his fans on their toes making sure no two shows are the same.
Stoney has stunned audiences across the Midwest, and has been packing venues along the way.
He has shared the stage with many acts such as; Lee Ann Womack, Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan, Radney Foster, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Billy Joe Shaver, and Willie Nelson.
