His second release on Smith
Music, this 10 song disc of guitar
driven Americana, explores some
of the different dimensions of
Jenkins' sound, weighing in heavily
on his rock and blues influences.
"I spent over a decade playing
the honky-tonks and blues bars of
Oklahoma, forging the sound that I
have today," says Jenkins, and on
this record it really shows.
The songs are strong,
all original, including cowrites
with Scott Hutchison,
and Stoney LaRue, who
also lends his voice to four of
the tracks.
Since leaving his home
in Tulsa for the heart of the
Texas Music scene in Austin in
2003, Jenkins has had a phenomenal
run of success on the Texas Music
Chart, with six hit singles – "My
Feet Don't Touch The Ground",
"Down In Flames", "The Whole
World's Gone Crazy", "Finger On
The Trigger", "Why Did
We Ever Say Goodbye", and
"Call Of The Road".
The first single will be the title
cut "Faster Than A Stone" and
will be hitting the airwaves in early
September.
